Spiritism is a Christian spiritualist philosophy, coded by Allan Kardec in the 19th Century. Those who follow Spiristm are called Spiritist or Kardecists. Spiritualism is a belief system that can be added to any religion and is based upon communication and interaction with the spiritual plane, those who believe in Spiritualism are called Spiritualists.
The First Spiritualist Military Chaplain and the First Female Military Chaplain was Ellen Elvira Gibson Hobart in 1864. She was elected chaplain of the First Wisconsin Heavy Artillery (Stroud, R.C. Curtana: Sword of Mercy, vol 5:1, 2014).
The volume 89:2 (2016) of the Military Chaplain, ISSN-00260-3958, a journal edited by the Military Chaplains of the United States of America (MCA) shows on page 44 a current Spiritualist Chaplain, named Alicia Barrs, who is an associated member.
Spiritism is an emerging Christian philosophy in the USA, will take a few decades to a Kardecist became a military chaplain.
