This is my first entry in response to the Three questions at the end of Lesson 2 of the Master of the Chaplain Studies: 1. Describe some you know who has the Divine Mark. What set them apart? Many people come to mind. However, in particular was my preaching professor Dr. Chevis Horne. He always managed to find something positive to say about everyone. He really listened and heard what students and others said to him. He could be joyful and laughed liked Mr. Magoo. 2. Has anyone observed the mark in you? Write down what they have said? People continue to share with me that I am excellent listener and that I am easy to talk to. 3. Consider your calling. Describe it in a paragraph or two? I have always gravitated towards church and things of the spirit. I had an emotional experience in church at the age of 12 that confirmed my calling and that I was loved by Christ. Also, the elderly have always gravitated towards me, and enjoyed sharing their stories and wisdom with me. Lastly, to my surprise, I have discovered that I am good with children and teenagers who like the fact that I listen to them and care about what they think and feel.
