Spiritism is a Christian spiritualist philosophy, coded by Allan Kardec in the 19th Century. Those who follow Spiristm are called Spiritist or Kardecists. Spiritualism is a belief system that can be added to any religion and is based upon communication and interaction with the spiritual plane; those who believe in Spiritualism are called Spiritualists.
The development of Spiritist Chaplaincy could be observed at "Toward the concept of Spiritist Chaplaincy" (SAAD, M., LUCHETTI, G., et al. 2015) which explore the concepts and design of Spiritist Chaplaincy.
The article " Spiritist hospital chaplaincy in Brazil: 5 years of documented experience" (ANEFALOS, A.E., SILVA, W.A.B., et al. 2017) shows how effective and consoling could be the performance of Spiritist Chaplains.
Spiritism is an emerging Christian philosophy in the USA, a one which balances science and faith, and will take a few years to a Kardecist became a healthcare chaplain.
