As a chaplain one must be an active listener and speak. However, the main role as a chaplain to be a good listener and your doing so take into account the body language and the over all non verbal communication. Good listeners as a chaplain is important and it also give positive feed back to clients that you are listening and concerned of what is happening to them. Also think before speak, because many times clients come to in grade need and how interest to be judged or spoke done down. They come to as someone they can confine with you and a form of support.
