My policy on appropriate touch as always been this: Let the other person go first and NEVER escalate. If someone shakes your hand don’t return the favor with a hug, unless a close personal bond has already been established. Never do anything that can be misconstrued as sexual. We live in a world where everyone’s mind is in the gutter. A simple kiss on the cheek could turn into a law suit faster than you can say “I need a lawyer” so we all have to be very careful.
